Xavi Hernandez has denied recent links with a spectacular return to his former club, Barcelona as manager.

Speculations had it that  Xavi is staying with Al Sadd and has no intention of returning to the Nou Camp this summer to replace Ronald Koeman.

The ex-Barcelona midfielder extended his contract with the Qatari club Al-Sadd earlier this month and despite being linked with Barca in recent days.

Xavi returned to Spain on vacation and rumours revealed the former Spanish player has returned home to take the job.

But speaking to Marca at Barcelona El Prat Airport following his arrival back in Spain, Xavi echoed that denied the hearsays.

“I don’t know anything, I’ve come here on vacation,” Xavi said.

“I still have some unfinished business with Al-Sadd,”

“Moreover, I have signed a new contract with the Qatari club,”

“I love my work and am happy at my current club right now,”

“So those rumours should be discarded because is off the mark,”

“I only came on vacation and not to replace any coach at Barca,”

Ronald Koeman still has a year left on his contract with the Catalans but his recent performance might result in a new taskmaster taking over from him.
