World Breast Feeding  Week Launched At Tain  District Government

The annual breast feeding week celebration of every year that falls on 1st-7th August as part of the programme the Tain district  launches it own. 

The Tain district government hospital director , Mr Kennedy Ohene Adjei in an  interview with *Ahenfie Nanaa Yaa Bosuo on Tain fm said the motive for the program is to educate women on, the importance of breast feeding,  when and how to breast feed a child, nutritious diet to that produce quality and healthy breast milk, advantage of human Breast milk and disadvantages of artificial feeding which Includes: lactogen, or food made with cow milk.

Again, he expressed his worried oh the survey that indicates that about 39% of women breast feed their children with only the breast milk for the first six (6) months  without any other food or water *(exclusive breast feeding). 

And so he urge every woman to follow their directives in breast feeding a child since good breast feeding makes a child grow healthy without acquiring any disease.

He advised that in case of any challenges or misunderstanding "you can consult the nurse for further education."
