The Wenchi Municipal Assembly says it will soon arrest and prosecute owners of stray animals whiles their animals would be impounded by the Assembly

This according to the Assembly is to stop stray animals from roaming in the heart of the town and occupying homes and office premises.
“We will soon impound your animals and arrest and prosecute you to set as a deterrent to others”, the Municipal Chief Executive for Wenchi Municipality Arxender Obour Damoah stressed.
The MCE made the disclosure when speaking at a stakeholder engagement meeting held by the Assembly with support from the Wenchi Traditional Council.
The meeting formed part of efforts and an opportunity for the MCE to familiarize himself with the traditional authorities as major stakeholders of development.
It was also to interact with them on major developmental issues and ways to tackle the associated challenges facing the progress of the Municipality.
Interacting with the revered Chiefs of the Council, the Chief Executive expressed his heartfelt appreciation and profound gratitude to them for their prayers and support during his Nomination, Confirmation, and Assumption of the position of Municipal Chief Executive. He reiterated his commitment and call to be a father for all and would continually open his doors for everybody.
He assured of regular engagements with the revered Council on the development agenda of the Municipality.
He expressed worry over how all efforts to get animal owners to cage their animals have proved futile, hence their decision.
The MCE also expressed worry over encroachment of lands of state institutions and those earmarked for development in the area. A situation he describes as worrying and has been affecting the development of the Wenchi Municipality.
He called culprits to desist from the act or face the full cause of the law.
However, the Wenchi Traditional Council has expressed concern over the slow pace of development in the area whiles making a passionate appeal to the Municipal Chief Executive for the speedy completion of projects such as Wenchi Sports Field, Community Centre, Township roads/Inner City roads, bridge at Low Cost - Magazine area and Wenchi Water Project.
The Council also requested for a 30% share of  Market Tolls/Revenue generated quarterly by the Assembly whiles requesting the MCE to get an official vehicle for the Traditional Council.
The Council charged the Assembly to construct a Warehouse as a temporal hub for the large tonnes of cashew being transported from the area. It called for a unique identity for cashew being produced in the area.

They however questioned why Wenchi has not been captured in the government's Agenda 111 Health Infrastructure Projects and thus charged the MCE to lobby for inclusion to have a government hospital in Wenchi.
They called for the development of Tomacan Company Ltd to create jobs for the teeming youth.
