There was a joyful atmosphere and wild jubilation in the Madina Constituency of the Greater Accra Region Region on Sunday December Sunday December 8, 2024 as the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Honourable Francis-Xavier Sosu has secured his second term resounding victory with an unprecedented votes margin to retain the Madina parliamentary seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just ended 2024 general elections.

The Private legal practitioner, Honourable Francis Xavier-Sosu has polled a total  56,008 votes whereas the Parliamentary Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Madina Constituency, Mr Robert Lamptey garnered 29,777 votes.
The Independent Candidate, Mr Awal Mohammed got 727 votes. The total valid votes was 86,512 with 368 rejected ballots.
The vote iifference between NDC and NPP is 26,230
In 2020, the human activist lawyer beats the former NPP parliamentary Candidate for Madina, Boniface Abu-Bakar Saddique with about 16,000. In 2024 he has expanded his win by additional 10,000 votes
Addressing a joyful and jubilant supporters of the NDC and people in Madina on Sunday December 8, 2024, Honourable Sosu stated that the NDC made unprecedented history in the region, adding that the party has captured some key parliamentary seats previously held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the party has successfully won the thirty (30) parliamentary seats out of the total thirty-four (34) seats in the country, stressing that the historic nature of these victories, describing them as a significant turning point in the region's political landscape.
The incumbent MP thanked "the Almighty God for His grace and favour in granting victory to the NDC and myself in this crucial election, and pledged to continue to be MP for all."
Lawyer Sosu reaffirmed that he wouldn't  let the people in his constituency down, rather he would ensure that he continues to serve them with humanity and promised the constituents of huge development as he was voted and retained as the MP of Madina to continue his second term.

"It is good to come to you today to thank you for the resounding victory that the people of Madina  has given to me, and Ghana as well as His Excellency new President-Elect, former President John Dramani Mahama together with the Running mate of the NDC, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang who is the first female Vice President in the Republic of Ghana. It is such and exciting times. 
"I would like to thank everyone of you who had assisted us to reach this far.  I would disappoint you or take your votes for granted. All you in Madina constituency will continue to benefit from my MP leadership," he assured.
According to him, there has never been a more humbling moment in my life, and I thank you, the good people of Madina, for this massive show of support and the confidence you have reposed in me and my party. I make this solemn pledge to you today – I will not let you down and will do all in my power to live up to your hopes and expectations. 
He indicated that "You are to be commended for the mature, peaceful and orderly manner in which you, once again, exercised your democratic franchise. The democratic credentials of our nation have been further enhanced by your conduct.
"I am confident, and I have faith that, with God's guidance and your active help and hardwork, we will move our constituency forward. Together, we will change Madina Constituency, and use all the blessings that the Almighty has bestowed on us to bring prosperity to our people and community in our time. Together, we will fulfil the destiny of Madina," the MP reaffirmed.
Honourable Sosu further thanked the Almighty God for the gracing and favouring that he has bestowed upon me in personal and the NDC as a political party by giving us this resounding victory.
He congratulated the clergymen, all the men of God including Bishops, priests and top-level leaders for religious groups who had come togetger to spend their times, fasting and praying to keep the faith of God to ensure this important victory l and NDC have attained.
"I am also using this platform to thank those who had been praying with me during this time of journey which has made me victorious today.
"Our security services are to be commended for ensuring a generally peaceful conduct of the poll, and doing so in a professional manner. That is what the Madina and a nation as a whole expect of them.
"To members and sympathisers of the great NDC  family, to our illustrious founding members, leading figures, members of Party organs, current and past constituency executives, electoral area  and polling station executives, thousands and thousands of volunteers, polling station agents, I say a big thank you to each and every one of you for your hardwork, commitment and encouragement, and for your belief in me and in my leadership of our party over the last four years," Lawyer Sosu noted.
Whilst this occasion would understandably lead to widespread jubilation amongst party supporters, Honourable Sosu entreated them to respect the peace and the property and lives of everybody, especially those of our political opponents.

of law, and we should act accordingly with magnanimity in our moment of victory.
"To the senior pastors and citizens of our country who have given me invaluable advice over the years, amongst them, President of Ghana National Inter- Success Association, Apostle Samuel Mensah, Duncan Williams, Christian Oyakhilome known as Pastor Chris, is a Nigerian pastor, televangelist and president of LoveWorld Incorporated a Christian Ministry including other people who have working together with these aforementioned hight profile personalities, I thank you for your counsel and for sharing your wisdom with me, and hope I can continue to count on you during the challenging period ahead of me.
"To the numerous priests and imams in Madina who have prayed for my soul and who have taken the trouble to intercede with the Almighty on my behalf, I am deeply grateful for your spiritual solidarity of which I shall avail myself continuously, now and in the future.
"I take this opportunity to thank you, the chiefs, queenmothers and people of Madina, who had supported my campaigns to win the seat again.
"I thank members of the Ghanaian media, for your continuing engagement in the public interest of our country. Your vigilance and activism are now by-words in the consistent efforts our people are making to carve a secure, democratic future for themselves," he stated.
