Veteran Nollywood Actor, Ramsey Nouah has talked about the movie’s soundtrack which was put together by Larry Gaaga and also reveals to why Kizz Daniel is his favorite artist during a recent interview.

Recall, Ramsey directed a sequel for the Nollywood classic, “Living in Bondage”, last year.

Speaking on creating the soundtrack album for “Living In Bondage”, he stated:
"Let me give kudos to the guy who made that happen. That’s Charles Okpaleke who happens to be the executive producer of Living In Bondage and a partner of mine.

"Charles is just this kind of crazy guy that when he feels something, he goes for it. He doesn’t care if it crashes. He doesn’t think about the crashing. He just thinks that the drive is all that matters.

"He spoke to Larry Gaaga, a plan was set and it worked. It worked very well and that now brought a very strong unison between the film and the music industry. It was a starting point and now I can comfortably say that I’ve opened the gate between music and film.

Commenting on the art of selecting the right song to go with a movie scene, he said:

"It’s very important to select the right songs for different scenes but it’s hard to determine. One person who can make it work out is the director. The director works with the song producers to let them know the flow, because, the flow of the scene determines what you play on and the kind of music to be played.

"You can’t have a romantic erotic scene and you’re playing apala or something (He laughs at this point). There will be a disconnect if you do that. You need to entire the flow. Most directors start to flow with the character from when they start working on the script with the writers.

"That’s why most times, some directors don’t opt for creating new soundtracks. They seek out already established songs and then fit the scene into it. If you’ve seen the movie Baby Driver, you can see that it was a song-driven film so the scenarios had to fit in with the songs. It’s important to put the soundtrack into consideration from the very beginning.

Using songs in films without proper licensing, he said:

"It’s a big problem. We’re in the age right now where everybody has rights to their IP. You don’t use people’s IP’s without consent and the way it’s going right now.

"There are laws protecting IPs so we can’t just take people’s songs and use them. Doing that shows a complete disregard for the owners of the songs. People who do such should know that they can be dealt with legally and that happens from time to time.

Speaking on his love for Kizz Daniel’s Music, he stated:

"Why do I like Kizz Daniel? Why does anybody like anything? As you move on in life, you find a certain tune that just sits well with you. Some people easily connect with the likes of Beyonce or maybe Usher, but it may not be the same with you.

"Everyone’s got a preference and Kizz Daniel just happens to be mine. I love him. His style syncs well with me. I like how he doesn’t do too much talking on his beat, he’s a more melodious kind of artist and he doesn’t rant too much. He lets the beat breathe. That’s what I love about his style.

"He does R&B and pop music in our local dialect and in a great way as well. I’m a sucker for local content. I’m a 90’s kinda guy and back then R&B and Hip-hop were the sounds of that era.

"So for me, anybody that can create those sounds in our own local way, I’m a huge fan of that person. I’m a fan of Olamide, 9ice, Flavour, Phyno and the rest that have been able to create the sound of the ’90s in our own indigenous way.

Ramsey Nouah has been around since the ’80s. He’s a veteran in every right but there’s still a youthful appeal to him.
