Neymar is hoping to reunite with Lionel Messi on the football pitch once again, Marca reports.

The Brazilian has hinted that next season could be a suitable year for both to feature in one team and break down defences.

Messi’s current contract ends in June 2021 and the 33-year old Argentine has no plans of extension after handing a transfer request last summer to the Barca board declaring his intentions to leave the club.

The Argentine although did not hint whether Messi would join Paris Saint Germain next season yet his desire to play with the FIFA Best player he shared same dressing room for four years at Barcelona was not hidden.

"What I want most is to play with [Messi] again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again," Neymar said after PSG's win at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

"He could play in my place. He won't have any problems, I'm sure. I want to play with him again and I'm sure that, next season, we have to do it."

Neymar stole the show at Old Trafford with a brace after Paris Saint Germain were victorious against Manchester United in the Champions League Match Week 5.

A win for PSG against Istanbul Basaksehir next Tuesday will progress last season finalist in the knockout stage of the competition.
