If you're just joining us, we've been informing you that FBI officers searched Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago, Florida, residence.
The FBI and the US government have not confirmed the raid, but Trump has stated it. In it, he states:
A "large group of FBI agents" "raided" his house.
He likens it to the Watergate scandal because they broke into his safe.
The raid was "not necessary or proper" because he had been collaborating with federal agents.
We don't yet have any official confirmation of the search or the reason it took place, but he thinks it was done with political motivation to attempt and prevent him from standing for president again in 2024.
But sources have told CBS that it relates to an investigation into Mr. Trump's handling of National Archives records. In February, an investigation began into this.
Eric Trump, his second son, also later said the search was about the National Archives records. But he said his dad had been very collaborative.
