What Did Gyakie Have Before Her EP? - M.anifest

M.anifest has lashed out at critics who still insist on comparing artists in Ghana to each other just to make some artists look outdated.

He explained that the current female sensation Gyakie was nowhere before her successful track 'Forever' and it would be insane to compare her to artists who have been staying on the grind for all those while even though they are not reigning now.

According to him, Ghanaians should not rate artists based on their views and streams on the various platforms because that is not a measure of how successful an artist is.

This he noted because newer artists are better at generating streams due to their know-how of the new technological landscape.

"...there are different seasons and different moments for every artiste and we all have different paths. Gyakie you are talking about before she released her EP what did she have? No is her moment so let’s support and celebrate her. The comparisons are not necessary at this point."

"We all have different paths and different songs will do different things for different people. When you look at every artiste's discography two songs are not the same and we have to be careful because if the focus is just on view, then people will buy but that doesn’t help the business because you want to build it,”

This he said in an interview with ZionFelix.

It has become the most common practice to look down on Veterans because they don't have as many streams as their upcoming artists.

He noted that an artist can only be judged against his fellow in the same era only if their works will ultimately pave way for upcoming artists.

“We should not be concerned with something is not happening but how we can help it to happen because that’s what is most important. We are in a very good time in the industry because we have different generations of people all active from the people who came before me. So many artists are active and people listen to them so let’s any of these comparative things,” he concluded.
