West Africa Pharma And Healthcare Expo And Conference Set To Enhance Healthcare Delivery 

The 4th edition of the West Africa Pharma and Healthcare Expo & Conference and Exhibition has commenced from 6th to 8th of May, 2205 in Accra with over hundred participating exhibitors.

The three (3) day event is on the topic “A1, Big Data and Telemedicine Diffusion in Ghana – Achievements, Challenges and the Way Forward.”

Lineup of activities will include regulating telemedicine practice, new models and innovation in pharmaceuticals, increasing access to medicines; approaches and perspectives and emerging trends in pharmacy.

Speakers includes, Dr. Godwin Acquaye– Chief Executive Officer of Business and Financial Times, Dr. Charlotte Osafo– Medical Director of the Bank Hospital, Mr. John Appiah– Chief Executive Officer of Koforidua Clinic.

Others were Dr. Daniel Amaning– Registrar, Pharmacy Council, Dr. Yaw Bannor– Registrar Health Facilities, Regulatory Authority (HEFRA), Dr. (Pharm) Samuel Otuo Serebour – Managing Director of Drug-Net, Mr. Frank Torbin - General Secretary Private Health Facilities Association of Ghana (PHFAOG).

The rest include Pharm Audrey Serwaa Bonsu – Chief Executive Officer for Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy, Ms. Laura Montis – FMEA & Agilent Technologies, France MES Equipment Limited (Ghana) and Praveen Singh Director ACE Group.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of Trade Agribusiness and Industry, Mr. Sampson Ahi said government have created the enabling environment for a robust healthcare delivery system, adding that Expo have created a common platform to leverage the pharma industry to strive.

He said such programmes creates and generates jobs in the said health sector for local production to meet the health needs for the citizenry and congratulated the organizers for their immense contribution to the pharmaceutical sector.

H. E. Manish Gupta, India High Commissioner to Ghana expressed his gratitude to all stake holders of the 4th edition, saying the event will enhance the pharmaceutical industry in the country.

The Project Director of WAPHC, Mr. Praveen Kumar Singh said more exhibitors have shown interest in the Expo, adding that the gesture will also help address emerging trends in the health and pharmaceutical sector.
