The Wenchi Municipal Health Directorate as part of efforts to ensure health care delivery in the municipality held its 2021 annual performance review meeting with stakeholders at the Wenchi Municipal Assembly Hall.


The opening ceremony of the review was performed by the Municipal Health Director, Mr. Robert Kwaku Bio.


Mr. Kwaku Bio complained about the challenges the directorate encounter in 2021.


Amongst them are, Inadequate Doctors in the Municipality,  High TB death rate, Low TB treatment success rate,  Increased Yellow fever death rate, Reduction in measures 2 coverage, and High prevalence of anemia in pregnancy.

He also commended the health workers on their contribution to the Health Directorate in the year 2021 in the Wenchi Municipality with their commitment and selflessness.

Mr. Robert Kwaku Bio pledged that they will put much effort to ensure quality healthcare delivery in the  Municipality.


The way forward for the year 2022, he said they will lobby for more doctors, follow up on all TB cases to ensure treatment success, increase yellow fever vaccination and enhance surveillance to detect suspected cases.

“We will also institute school vaccination to increase the second year of life antigens, lastly to educate mothers at ANC on the prevention of anemia in pregnancy”, he added.
