Wenchi Methodist Old Students 1977 Year Group Commission and Hand Over Water Project to the School. 

Speaking with the Chairman of the 1977-year-old student, Rev. Dr Ayensu Mensah said, water is life and water saves lives so they did this to save the good lives of the students in the school.

The Old students of Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (Wess) 1977 year group have commissioned a water project for the school. 

According to the old student, when they were in school in 1972, they walk almost 6 kilometres in the morning to get water for cooking and bathing before they go to school and after school, they again walk a distance of 12 kilometres in a day and water was a very big challenge to the school, therefore, decided to drill mechanised borehole water for the school. 

Speaking with the Chairman of the 1977-year-old student, Rev. Dr Ayensu Mensah said, water is life and water saves lives so they did this to save the good lives of the students in the school.

He said, they started this project in 2020 and it was in their plan to complete it in one year but was facing challenges in the drilling of the water.

They said the contractor tried it 3 times before getting the water and it cost them Gh¢40.000.00.

The Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo who was present at the commissioning ceremony and an old student in the 1977 year told the students that, he was in house one (1) and started in a D class and ends in 5A as a Science Students but now a Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana.

Lastly, the Presiding Bishop advised the students to respect their teachers because they see their teachers as difficult but they can get a brighter future only if they can listen to their teachers and also said they show stop tagging their teachers as bad and within 10 years later you will appreciate them and thank them for being their guide in life.

The headmaster of the school also commended the 1977 old students of the school for providing them with a mechanized borehole.
