A section of New Patriotic Party youth members in the Kwabre Municipality have sworn to invoke a curse on their party executives if the decision to mandate Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah for a second term is not rescinded.

According to the angry party members, the choice to let the 26-year old continue her reign unopposedly as Member of Parliament is not in the interest of constituency delegates for the reason that the prohibition of aspiring candidate, Lawyer Osei Poku was surrounded by bribery allegations in favor of the young woman.

Thoughts were also revealed that the incumbent MP is not experienced enough to take decisions on behalf of the Kwabre East Constituency in Ghana’s Parliament assessing the low depth of infrastructural development in the Assembly.

“Maame Sewaa cannot lead this constituency. She will be 26 in no time. This means she voted at the age of 22 in 2012. Everything surrounding her administration is as a result of bribery in the name of money. We cannot continue to let that happen for another four years.

“This is our schnapp, we have our eggs available. If Lawyer Osei Poku is not allowed to contest, we will call upon Ankanini, Akonedi, Antoa and other gods to curse anyone involved in the bribery. We need lawyer in the Kwabre… We need Lawyer. The youth are suffering with no jobs,” Osei Bonsu Hayford uttered.

A part of the party executives in the Kwabre constituency held a press conference on Thursday Morning at the Ahwiaa Roman Catholic Church to express discontent at the Regional executives decision regarding Hon. Francisca Oteng.

Speaking to SoireeNews after the program, inhabitants called on the Executives to defer their decisions with threats to vote “skirt and blouse” if their leaders maintain their stands. The name, Lawyer Osei Poku was repeatedly pronounced as the people’s beloved. His disqualification during the vetting process last week paved way for Hon. Francisca Oteng to contest unopposed with some polling station executives calling for explanations on why the aspiring candidate was excluded.

They have defined the decision by the Regional Executives as not on fair grounds.

“If Francisca contest in the upcoming elections, we will vote ‘skirt and blouse”. She has done nothing to promote the Ahwiaa vicinity. We are dedicated to the party and pay our dues very well. As old as we are, we dedicate our lives to serve the party and what we get is nothing. Look at our roads and market, she is not the right person to help us,” a 60 year old woman angrily spoke.

“We will give Francisca no chance to represent us. Lawyer is the one we seek else no voting,” another confessed.

"Even if it means voting for the NDC candidate, we will. If Maame Sewaa has filled the pockets of the executives in the name of the Kwabre seat, we will opt for the opposition candidate come December 7,” a 40 years old man revealed.
