Incumbent Weija-Gbawe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor could have set a very not forgetting record in an election conducted and supervised by the Municipal Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday, October 1, 2021.

This was after the assembly members and government appointees of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly decided to give popular acclimation to incumbent MCE until the Electoral Commission Officer quickly intervened and appealed for votes to confirm his 100 per cent endorsement.

Following this developemt, the Assembly members who participated in his confirmation, voted ‘Yes,’ giving Mr Kumor a 100% resounding confirmation.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Kumor expressed his appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his nomination and subsequent confirmation by the Assembly Members in the municipality.

He further thanked the supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the chiefs and people in the area for their support.

"I particularly thank the media houses within the jurisdiction for their adherence to professionalism throughout the confirmation process, and would wish to indicate that I shall avail myself at the appropriate time for further deliberations on matters of our Municipality," he added.

He assured to continue to pursue pro-poor policies to bring sustainable development to the municipalilty.

For his part, the Greater Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey tasked Mr Kumor to carry on with the well- intended programmes and activities of the assembly and stressed he is aware of the expectation of his leadership.

"I hope that Mr Kumor is going to channel his energy into fighting the challenges that have consistently become detrimental to the development of the assembly," Mr Quartey noted.
