The Nkoranza North Youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have cautioned the Presidency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the party leadership to halt any political appointment for their constituency chairman, Mr Amofa Asafo Agyei and Jacklin Boatemaa Bonsu.

According to the youth during a press conference held at Yefirie in Nkoranza North constituency, chairman Amofa Asafo Agyei was involved in dishonest dealings which are against the rulebook of the NPP and have called on the National Executive Council to suspend them from the party.

Per the accusation of the group, the constituency chairman who contested the then incumbent member of parliament, Hon. Major Rt Derek Oduro during their party's primaries was pictured on December 7, 2020, giving out monies meant for the constituency to voters and instigating them to 'vote skirt and blouse' along with Jacklin Boatemaa Bonsu.

“Chairman Amofa Asafo Agyei and some of the party constituency executives were seen preaching skirt and blouse in most of the communities in the Nkoranza North constituency which led to the defeat of Hon. Major Rt Derek Oduro and again affected the votes of Nana Addo Danqua Akuffo Addo, all in the name of promises made to them by Miss Jaqueline Boatemaa Bonsu to unseat Hon Major Rt Derek Oduro for her personal gains to pursue her political agenda,” the statement said.

“We have audio, video and pictorials evidence to prove our case in this regard, On the 7th December 2020 when voting was ongoing Mr. Amofa Asafo Agyei and his accomplices were seen at the party office in Busunya, the Nkoranza North district capital sharing money ranging from Gh¢10 to Gh¢100 from Miss Jaqueline Boatemaa Bonsu and that of the NPP money meant for transportation, to people to influence them to go and vote skirt and blouse,” it added.

They have therefore called on the NPP leadership as a matter of urgency to suspend all the constituency executives excluding the women's organizer and the second vice-Chairman.

“ It was the chairman, Amofa and some of the constituency executives as well as Jaqueline Boatemaa Bonsu who masterminded the plot to unseat our incumbent MP and parliamentary candidate for the NPP; Hon. Major Rtd Derek Oduro,” the statement revealed.

The youth and the party faithful further proceeded to invoke curses on all party leadership who misused the party’s money and resources to campaign against the NPP.
