The Member of Parliament for Fomena who retained his seat on the ticket of an independent candidate has been the centre of attraction since the start of 2020.

Lawyer Andrews Amoako Asiamah was sacked from his party, New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the lawmaker decided to contest the parliamentary elections in the constituency as an independent candidate.

Hon. Asiamah emerged victorious after a hard-fought victory over the main contender who stood on the ticket of NPP, Philip Ofori Asante. The MP has since made it clear that he'll be siding with the NPP MPs in parliament but his supporters are of a different view unless their demands are met.

In an interview with Shaft FM morning show host Ghanaba Justice, monitored by Soireenews.com, the spokesperson for the lawmaker, Mr Seth Oduro explained that supporters of the M.P demand nothing but the resignation of all the party's executives at the constituency level since they still consider them (Lawyer's followers) as outcasts.

"We the supporters of Lawyer Asiamah want nothing but the dismissal or resignation of the party's executives at the constituency level, mainly because they see us outcasts from the party, moreover, these executives were not voted for, they are self-imposed executives which some of them has been at post for over 20 years.

"These people, we believe will sabotage the works of Lawyer Asiamah, and so we want nothing but their dismissal," Seth Oduro said.

Seth Oduro further explained that if nothing is done about their demands, they'll advise themselves even though Lawyer Assiamah has agreed to side with the NPP.

"It's impossible to be in parliament without being with a caucus, but we're still independent and that's the icing on the cake. If we're not given what we demanded, we'll support any caucus we feel will listen to us. It is still a chair we'll be exchanging so if the executives at the constituency regard us as outcasts, we'll make a decision that will favour those who voted for Lawyer," Mr Oduro concluded.

Seth Oduro, who played a vital role in the victory of Lawyer Asiamah, was beaten to pulp on the eve of the elections and in reward, information reaching SoireeNews.com indicates that he's been considered for the position of District Chief Executive of the Adansi North Assembly.
