''We're Not Good Enough''-Jordan Ayew Reveals

The Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew, Black Star’s striker, has admitted that the performance of the senior national team of Ghana was not good enough to qualify to the sensation stage of the tournament.

Ghana suffered a humiliating group-stage exit at the Africa Cup of Nations after the four-time champions were beaten by debutants Comoros in the final Group C game at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the game, Jordan Ayew who leaves Cameroon without a single goal said the group stage served as a wake-up call for the young squad and an opportunity they must learn from.

“We're not good enough, we have a young squad, it’s a wake-up call for everyone and if we don’t learn from this then I don’t know,” he is quoted as having said by GTV Sports.

Jordan was a member of Ghana’s underwhelming frontline, which scored just one goal in their opening two matches against Morocco and Gabon.

The 10-man Black Stars team scored twice against Comoros in their final match, but their defense allowed three additional goals to seal their fate.

The result in Group C will go down as one of the biggest shocks in Nations Cup history as Comoros scored at the finals for the first time and then went on to record a memorable maiden victory.

This was the first time in AFCON history that the Stars had exited without a single victory and the first time since 2006 that they had exited at the group stage.
