The Chief of Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Atofoase l, has called on the people of Domeabra and its adjoining communities to rally behind the ongoing construction of the private hospital facility in the area.
According to the chief, the disgruntled residents in the area should put aside their grievances to support the hospital project because the community is in dire need of the hospital which will deliver high-quality healthcare services to the people in Domeabra and its adjoining communities.
Nii Atofoase l complained that the unavailability of the hospital facility in Domeabra has made them travel far to either Winneba or Kasoa to access the health facility.
"We in Domeabra have to enjoy optimal health as individuals and as a population, we must have the benefit of high-quality health care services that are needed," the chief explained.
The chief was not happy about the way and manner some self-seeking elders have turned around to criticize him and his elders for allocating land to the owners of the hospital to construct mortuary and pharmacy facilities project requested by the government. Before it can be given operational license to be commissioned.
Nii Atofoase earlier in an interview denied the allegation that he sold the community cemetery land to an individual land developer to build the hospital.

According to him, he was in consultation with the principal and accredited elders of Domeabra who have earmarked lands that are not part of the cemetery to private individuals to develop.
Nii Atofoase l stated that the residents led by Asafoase of Domeabra, Nii Kwoa were deliberately accusing him of selling the community cemetery. Adding that the decision to allocate the said land to a private land developer to build mortuary and pharmacy was known to every concerned citizen, particularly the accredited elders of the stool of Domeabra.
He explained the private land developer has built a private hospital in the area and that when he went to the Ministry of Health to acquire accreditation to start the commercial operation of the health care delivery to the people of the area, the Ministry requested him to add some health facility including mortuary and pharmacy before he could be given the green light to operate.
Following this development, "I being the Chief installed to take care of the property of the area, the man and followers have approached me for the help in regard for the community to allocate land for them to build the mortuary and pharmacy so that the government could allow to commission the project and start the work.
"So we sent some elders and youth to allocate the land near the cemetery to the man to build the project.
"Indeed l have given out land to some private man to build a hospital in the community but not that of the community cemetery. And l want to state that, though the  land  is near the cemetery, it is not the land earmarked  for burial."  Nii Atofoase l declared.
"We are saying that we need the hospital to be operating in our area so the land we have given out to the man to build mortuary and pharmacy project in addition to the already built hospital facility is litigation free and that those making noise are doing it just to sabotage the project but we will not allow them," the chief stressed.
The chief, therefore, pledged massive development in Domeabra which includes quality healthcare delivery, potable drinking water, a quality education system and many more.
