He noted that since hen President Akufo-Addo assumed office, the investments in the Agriculture activities of the Ghanaian smallholder farmers were very huge, saying that the evidence is available for everybody to come and see.
He pointed out that last two years, the government has supported the country's smallholder farmers without farm machinery such, as tractors, harvesters, trenchers, handheld farming machines it received from the donor community to improve farming activities in the country.
According to him, the government has good plans for all the smallholder farmers in the country, saying that currently, the government has received more farming machinery from the government agency initiatives which were yet to be cleared from the ports to be made available to Ghanaian smallholder farmers.
He pointed out that a couple of months ago the officials of the Food and Agriculture have embarked on the country's wide tour to access how benefits the agricultural flagship program - Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) program to the beneficiary farmers.
Highlighting the challenges, the Deputy Agriculture Minister noted that the cry of every farmer of the places they visited was the issue of how to manage the post-harvest losses.
He noted that most of the farmers requested the government to support them with the post-harvest machines to help argue the challenges.
In this regard, he assured that the current machines that the government is receiving are going to be sent to those smallholder farmers to handle the post-harvest problems.
He maintained that the government is committed to reducing the post-harvest loss of the farmers in the farmers by way of supporting them with the current machines that it has received from the international donor community.
