The Assembly Member for Kumawu -Dadease Electoral Area in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, Mr.Kofi Adade, has decried over the lack of suitable lands for farming activities in his electoral area which, he situation stressed is their major challenge.

The Assembly Member for Kumawu -Dadease Electoral Area in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, Mr.Kofi Adade, has decried over the lack of suitable lands for farming activities in his electoral area which, he situation stressed is their major challenge.
The outspoken Assemblyman stated that "cola nut was the main crop the community used to work on but later changed to cassava and all the surrounded communities come to Dadease to buy and that even made the basis of their current market."
According to him, almost all the land in the country is sandy soil and the heads of the families had sold them out for sand winning.
The situation, he stressed has left the farmers struggling for farming activities as the farmers had no land for farming and have affected them economically.
The workaholic assembly member made the statement when the management of the Global Active Christian Development donated bags of rice to the Kumawu -Dadease community to celebrate this new year's celebration.
He called on stakeholders and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to assist the community, especially the citizens leaving outside the community in any support for their living.
For his part, the Executive Director for Global Active Christian Development, Rev Robert Addai Aboagye called on everyone especially widows to depend on God and he will assist them.
"I am once needy but as l started depending on God, he now assists others," he disclosed.
He further called on rich people to stretch their support to the needy to attain God's blessings.
