The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has said that as a new creation, Christians have been anointed for good works.

According to him, Christians were created for good works, hence they need anointing to carry out that mandate.

Apostle Nyamekye said this in a sermon he preached recently at the Sunday Special Evening Service which was telecast live on PENT TV as part of his teachings on 'Victorious Christian Living'

The Chairman, preaching on the topic, "He Anointed Us" with 2 Corinthians 1:21 as his anchor text, explained how Christians have been anointed by God with the Holy Spirit for good works.

"When we were created in Him, He anointed us because the anointing is always for a purpose. The Bible says He created us for good works and we need the anointing to execute our mandate," he noted.

The astute theologian emphasized the purpose for the anointing as he quoted Luke 4:18, saying, "If He created us for good works, then we should be fortified for the good works. He anointed us.

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good because He was to do good. We too, we have not been created to do evil; we have been created for good works and God has anointed us."

He continued: "Jesus told His disciples, 'In my Name, you will cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead.' This calls for fortification and because of this He has anointed us."

Referring to Peter's encounter with the cripple at the Temple gate in Acts 3:1-6, the Chairman explained that every believer is anointed. revealing that what Peter had was not the name 'Jesus' but the Holy Spirit, though he applied the authority of the name.

"What Peter had; John also had and we also have; it is the Spirit of God. He is the anointing, the promised Holy Spirit, which is for all those who will be called by the Lord our God," he stressed. "Are you called?", he quizzed, saying, "Then you have the Spirit and because you have the Spirit, He has anointed you."

Apostle Eric Nyamelye charged Christians to be conscious of God's anointing and His gracious hand upon their lives (Ezra 7:6; 8:18, 22, 31).

"You are anointed. Believe it; talk about it; appropriate it and confess it. When you wake up in the morning, just say Father, I thank you that I am anointed," he concluded.
