The Ghanaian-based Nigerian artiste recently dragged Kuami Eugene to the Accra High Court, asking for a tune of GHC120,000 for damages for the cost of the production of the song and the music video.

He accused Kuami Eugene and Richie Mensah of song theft of his "Show Body" track which he released in July 2020, followed by a video in September 2020.

The CEO of Lynx Entertainment Richie Mensah, while speaking to JoyNews’ Doreen Avio, stated that there is no case against his signee Kuami Eugene because it cannot be proved.

According to him, Essan Oduma is just looking for attention since it is visible to all that Kuami Eugene did not take inspiration from him.

“So this artiste has taken it to court, and our lawyer sent everything to show them that this case makes no sense. So, it is up to the court to decide."

“You can go on Kuami Eugene’s IG or goggle Son of Africa tracklist, and you will see it was released a month before they released their song. So, there is no case.”

“they released their song in August. In July, Kuami Eugene announced his album tracklist, and Show Body was one of the songs on the album. The song was recorded in May. Falz sent his verse on June 6.”
