The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has impressed on Christians to walk in the anew in Christ; a life beyond reproach since they have been created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

As a new creation, Chairman Nyamekye explained that Christians have inherent power which is overwhelming to live a life of unimpeachable rectitude and resplendence because they have been endowed with all it takes to be like Christ in doing good works and live like Him (Ephesians 2:10; 4:22-24). "If we weren't like Him, He wouldn't leave us to represent Him," he said.

During the live broadcast of a Special Evening Service on PENT TV on Sunday, May 17, 2020, Apostle Eric Nyamekye in a sermon on the topic, "Walking in The New Life In Christ" as part of his teachings on "Living A Victorious Christian Life", said that the new life in Christ is made possible and available for Christians because of the finished work of Christ on the cross.

He added that Christ fulfilled whatever was required for the redemption of mankind on the cross. This, according to the Chairman, has rendered the old order, law, and the covenant obsolete, giving way to the new one.

Apostle Nyamekye furthered that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the new creation and for that matter, those who believe in Jesus Christ belong to the new creation.

Reading from Genesis 2:7 and Psalm 139:13-16, the revered theologian expounded that, though the old creation was wonderfully made and mandated to be fruitful, to multiply as in procreation and to manage God's world, the new creation in Christ is unparalleled and much superior to the old. He revealed that the old creation was totally devoid of the mandate to control forces of darkness and exercise dominion over sin in the world.

Recounting the circumstances surrounding the new creation, the Chairman read Luke 23:44-49 and Genesis 1:1-3 to posit that the darkness and the light that happened on earth for three hours at the death of Christ on the cross was a sign of the new creation. According to him, God made all things new on the cross just as it was in the beginning. "In fact we have been made anew," he underscored.

Apostle Nyamekye remarked that God made the new creation in Him with a purpose in mind; that now through the church or through the new creation the manifold wisdom of God be demonstrated to principalities and powers in the heavenly realms. He stressed that "not only the new creation is the manager of God's world but he has also been carefully knitted to manage principalities and powers in the heavenly realms."

Another reason why God made the new creation, according to the Chairman, is for believers to have power over sin and overcome the world, thus to reign in life through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:14-17).

The famed man of God further taught that the new creation was in fulfillment of the prophecy of Zachariah which was given six months before the birth of Jesus (Luke 1:69-74). "Jesus came to save us from the hands of our enemies and to enable us to serve God without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.

"So now the prophecy has been fulfilled in Christ and we can live a victorious glorious life. We can build a glorious Church that the world will watch and see us walking through holiness and in righteousness," he said exhorting Christians to have a change in the attitude of mind concerning themselves and continue to live in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7).

Touching on how to continue to live in Christ, Apostle Eric Nyamekye quoted 2 Peter 1:3-11 and reiterated that Christians, being the new creation have all they need to live godly lives. However, he said, they need to "Add" which according to him, is to do something.

He stated: "You cannot do what God does, and God will not do what you can do. So what you can do, He has given you the ability to do it and He will not do it for you. What God alone can do He is not expecting you to do it."

He, therefore, charged Christians to stand on the authority of the law through the power of the eternal life and eternal Holy Spirit which is for them to work out their own salvation by responding to the dictates of the Holy Spirit, developing good character and walking correctly in Christ.

The Chairman further urged Christians to "add" by taking the initiative of themselves, making a decision of their will and making it impossible to go back to the former way of life, stressing that, "those who do such things neither stumble nor fall."

"Let us stop thinking sin; let us think about Christ and how to become like Him," he added.

He also advised Christians not to be oblivious of the fact that they are born of God and God's seed remains in them which bars them from making a practice of sinning (1 John 3:9), but expected to bear fruit which guarantees their innocence in the face of every law (Galatians 5:19-23).

"Paul would never have said bearing fruits if there were no seed planted in you; neither could he talk about the fruit of the Spirit if there were no seed in you because without seed there will be no fruit," he noted. He, therefore, urged Christians to make every effort to always add by allowing the seed of Christ in them manifest through the bearing of fruits to affect every sphere of this world.

The Chairman noted that since Christians have made their own choice in the acceptance of Christ and His new life, it is expected that they should look like Christ, saying, "People must see us and confess that they have met Christ. Our seed planted by God must bear fruits."

Apostle Eric Nyamekye brought his exhortation to a close by calling on Christians to make what is planted in them (the Word) to grow and be turned into eternal life by eschewing all forms of ungodliness (James 1:21; Titus 2:14).
