The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region has vetted all the aspiring candidates who are contesting the various executive positions within the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.

However, one of the aspiring chairmen of the NPP in the Akwatia Constituency, Fred Nana Yaw Addo Baah has passed through the vetting process successfully.

Speaking in an interview with some journalists after the vetting, called on all the delegates and members of the NPP in the constituency to vote massively for him to wrestle the parliamentary seat from National Democratic Congress MP, Henry Yiadom Boakye in the 2024 election.

Mr Baah indicated that going through the vetting process marked his readiness to “serve the party” and help the NPP “to break the eight.”

According to him, the NPP in the constitueny needs "a transformational leader like him to solve the "myriad of problems" confronting the party in the constituency levels, reiterating the called on the delegates to vote for win the chairmanship race.

He pointed out that when given the nod he would design effective policy to ensure that the party resource its grassroots to help build a strong base to be able to retain power in the 2024 general election.

“We have to resource the party at the grassroots. We have to let the party people feel that the party cares about their welfare, and when given the nod l am going to lead these crusade," Mr Baah noted.

According to him, there is absolutely no reason why the NDC should win elections in Akwatia if not for mishandling of the party. Akwatia NPP has to be like all our neighbours where the NPP has always won for both presidential and parliamentary elections.
