Real Madrid now have four wins out of four matches since returning to the pitch after posting a 2-0 victory over Mallorca on Tuesday night at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in Madrid.

A strong finish from Vinicius and a sweetly-struck freekick from Sergio Ramos lifted Los Blancos to the victory and once again top spot in the table.

History was also made on the night with Mallorca's Luka Romero becoming the youngest player in the history of the Spanish first division at 15 years and 219 days.

Coach Zinedine Zidane pulled no punches with his starting XI, giving Gareth Bale his first start since February, plus nods to Eden Hazard, Vinicius, and Karim Benzema in attack. Meanwhile, in the back, Ferland Mendy was in for Marcelo, while there was no Toni Kroos nor Casemiro in midfield.

Mallorca goalkeeper Reina was pressed into duty early, first saving a chance from Benzema with a sturdy block and then moments later denying Bale from distance.

Reina could do nothing though to prevent the opener from Vinicius, who collected a pass from Luka Modric on the left and stepped in front of Bale before tucking away the finish for a 1-0 Real lead. The score was not without controversy, as Dani Carvajal had clattered into Dani Rodriguez to win back possession to begin the Real break, but referee Melero Lopez ruled otherwise and ultimately the goal stood.

The Brazilian nearly made it two just minutes later after receiving an inch-perfect pass from Benzema, only to see his scooped shot over Reina bounce off the crossbar and out.

Mallorca certainly didn't just roll over though. The islanders got a good foothold into the match through the midfield, and while it didn't yield an equalizer, there was every reason to feel positive about their first-half performance.

Any hopes of Mallorca pulling even though came to a screeching halt shortly after the re-start, with Ramos striking with a right-footed freekick, that curled perfectly over the Mallorca wall and into net to double the Real advantage, 2-0.

Zidane's first change came right after the hour mark, with Hazard making way for Kroos and then later it was Modric and Bale off for Marco Asensio and Isco, respectively.

Mallorca still were keen to pull one back, but outside of a couple of Budimir chances, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was never really troubled by the visitors' attack.

Brahim and Mariano were the final players to come on, replacing Vinicius and Benzema, and the former Manchester City man came the closest to notching a third for Real with a shot that skidded wide late.
