Veep Commissions Cape  Coast Sinohydro Roads 
The Cape Coast Inner Cities Sinohydro roads which were cut sod for their construction  on 21st November, 2019 have been officially commissioned by Vice President Alhaji Dr.  Mahamadu Bawumia.
Addressing the chiefs and people present at the function, the Vice President stated the importance of these roads to the communities and the entire Cape Coast Metropolis and said the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu-Addo led  New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is the only government which has constructed more roads in this 4th Republic.
On his part, the Ambassador of China to Ghana, H.E Lu Kun stated the continuous relationship between China and Ghana and this he said has contributed in so many diverse ways to both countries.
He said the Sinohydro agreement is a good example of what he is saying.
 The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Kwesi Amoako Atta said, the roads which have been constructed were once in a very deplorable state.
He mentioned that the commission of the roads will go a long way to help the inhabitants in-and-around the places these roads are constructed.
The Centra Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Boahen on behalf of the Central Regional Minister noted that the region is putting in place measures to boost tourism in the region and so these roads will be of help to the region especially Cape Coast.
The Oguaamanhen, Osaberima Kwesi Atta II thanked the government for fulfilling its promise on constructing those roads.
He entreated the Vice President to ensure construction of more roads in Cape Coast especially Nkanfoa inner roads and its enclaves.
The Ministry of roads and Highways through the Department of Urban Roads commenced the 'Construction of Western and Cape Coast Inner City Road Project - Lot 7 (32km) as part of the Master Project Support with Sinohydro Cooperation.
The sod cutting ceremony for the project was performed by Dr Bawumia on 21st November 2019.
  
The Cape Coast section of the project involved the rehabilitation and upgrading of 22km of roads in Cape Coast. Beneficiary areas include Akotokyir, Kwaprow, Amamoma, Academy Area, English/Arabic Area, PPAG Area, Ebubonko-Amissano-Besakurom-Dankwakurom, Eyifua and Kakumdo.
The Vice President was accompanied by government appointees and officials such as; Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson ( MP, Awutu Senya East and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Dvt), Mr  Naana Eyiah (MP, Gomoa Central and Dep. Interior Minister), Hon. Fred Oware, Central Regional NPP Executives.

The president declared 2020, and 2021 as the year of roads as part of his plans to address the bad road network in the country during his inaugural speech at the Fore Court of Parliament Nana Addo, said the year 2020 was declared the year of roads which saw a major improvement of the road networks in every part of the country, however, there is still a lot more work to be done to improve the flow of road traffic in Ghana.
