Van Dijk Renews contract which Ties him with Liverpool till 2025

Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk according to the Telegraph has agreed to sign a long term contract with the Merseyside Reds.

Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton as the record signing defender in the World in a fee worth 75 million. His presence at the Anfield club has seen a vass improvement in both his career and the transformation of Liverpool football club. He was voted as the PFA Player for last season, UEFA Champions League defender of the year and European player of the year.

Negotiations over improved terms had been ongoing during the summer but sources in Holland have confirmed that Virgil will be staying in Merseyside after the two parties finally concluded talks. His current deal which runs out in 2023 have had two years addition whiles his wage of £125,000 a week has rise to £200,000 a week. 

Liverpool have won the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup since the arrival of Van Dijk and were runners up to Manchester City after missing last season’s Premier League trophy by a point.
