Utilize the net and stop using it to watch dresses, shapes of women - Asokwa MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency, in the Ashanti Region, Madam Patricia Appiagyei has admitted that most Ghanaian youth nowadays do not use the internet on things that would benefit them rather on negative activities such as pornography, cybercrime, and others.

She explained that the internet is a tool that can be of great help to life if put to good use but the youth of today would prefer to use it for negativities.

She said the internet could change the mindset of people to become creative by feeding the brains with an innovative idea for one to become successful if it is used properly.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei stressed that most Ghanaians have the mindset that, it is the only government that is supposed to give employment to the people but that is not it, there are several ways the youth can use the internet to explore, create employment for themselves to generate income.

The Asokwa legislator said the youth should put the little ICT that is being thought in school into practical use and that will help to change their livelihoods.

The lawmaker stated that, as long as the youth keep using the internet for watching pornography, gossiping, defrauding, and many corrupt practices, the best side of the internet would not be obtained.

The MP further explained that there are both positive and negative activities of the internet and therefore called Ghanaians youth especially to use the internet for something positive in order to bring development to themselves and the country at large.

She advised the ladies to develop themselves with the internet instead of watching new styles of dresses and hairstyles.

Madam Patricia Appiagyei further entreated the young boys to also stop using the net for fraud as well as watching the shapes and colour of women.
