Use Nyinahin Bauxite Money to Develop Atwima Mponua - Akufo-Addo Told  

A leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), US Cincinnati, Ohio Chapter, Mr. Owusu Afriyie has said President Akufo-Addo should use the Nyinahin Bauxite Money to develop Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti Region.

 Ghana and Chinese mining company, Sinohydro Group Limited have agreed that the company will provide $2 billion of the infrastructure of the government's choice in exchange for Ghana's refined bauxite.

"Ghana is ready to tap into the first tranche of the agreement, which is worth the US $649m,” Mr. Nkrumah disclosed at a press briefing on Wednesday, 21 November 2018.

For this reason, the loud NPP Cincinnati Ohio Chapter leader is demanding that the Nyinahin Township should be developed before the Bauxite mining begins.

Security

Speaking in a phone dialogue with SN24 News yesterday, Mr. Owusu Afriyie said, the government should use part of the Chinese Sinohydro money to build an ultra-modern Police Station in Nyinahin.

The government should add more police personnel, equip them with modern equipment to stiffen security in Atwima Mponua District.

 He requested that President Akufo-Addo’s government should build a modern Fire Service station in Nyinahin and equip them with 2 fire tenders.

Education

He accentuated that the standard of the Nyinahin Senior High School should be elevated to an ultra-modern college just like he (Akufo-Addo) erected the Atiwa SHS.

Mr. Owusu Afriyie further demanded that President Akufo-Addo should build an ultra-modern Nursing Training College to serve Nyinahin and its environs.

Health

An Ultra-Modern Hospital with modern Equipment should be raised in Nyinahin.

Housing

He continued that the Sinohydro dough should be used to construct government bungalows to accommodate all government workers who would be working in the district.

Roads

Quality asphaltic Nyinahin town roads and a double lane stretch, from Abuakwa to Nyinahin should be constructed.

Mr. Owusu Afriyie said, he has realized that most mining communities in Ghana are lagging behind progress, therefore, will compel the government to use the $2 billion Sinohydro money to develop Atwima Mponua District, especially its capital, Nyinahin.
