THE MINISTER for Communications and Digitalisation for the Republic of Ghana and a three terms Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Constituency within the Greater Accra Region, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has lashed a verbal attack at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), blaming the party for being responsible for all the challenges facing the mobile SIM Cards registration in the country.
The sector Minister blamed the noncompliance with the SIM Card re-registration on the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Speaking at the parliamentary on Monday December 6, 2022,  the Minister bemoaned attempts by the opposition NDC to discourage its members and Ghanaians from availing themselves for the exercise.
“The NDC vociferously opposed the Ghana Card registration and called on all their supporters to boycott the process. Those who heeded that anti-social call and refused to register are now feeling the effect of it. You listen to the NDC at your own peril” the Minister said.
According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) female legislator, she was blaming the NDC for being responsible for the challenges facing the registration of the SIM cards in Ghana because they had campaigned against the National Identification Authority (NIA) card which is puporlarly known as the Ghana card.
In detailing the number of persons who have already registered,the sector Minister noted that if the minority together with the chief whip Muntaka Mubarak were positive in getting the public to register all wouldn't have been worsen this time round.
The chief whip, Mubarak Muntaka who could not accepted the blame defended themselves cautioned the minister against  for making unnecessary allegations.
He challenged the sector Minister to rather stop the blame game and deal with the matter which is currently affecting Ghanaians and halted business which according to him is due to her persistence failures.
