The Upper West Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Saabanye Basilide Kangberee, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for making tremendous efforts to ensure equitable distribution of the state social intervention projects and programmes.

According to him, its outcome has transformed the lives of the people in the region.

He further praised the President for taking contingency measures to direct Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah with the allocation of an amount of GH¢50 million to fix the road network destroyed in the Upper West Region following a flood on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

He said the President is actively trying to restore the major roads which were destroyed during the flooding disaster which has rocked the region.

According to him, some of the roads were already fixed to be used by vehicles and others were in the completing stage.

"I may say that the President and his Minister are on the top of fixing the problems caused by the flood disasters in the region to ensure the ease transportation of the people in the region," he assured.

Speaking in an interview with Daily ANALYST, Mr  Kangberee stated that he never witnessed any government or President who has brought numerous state social intervention projects and programmes to the Upper West Region to the expectation of Ghanaians like President Akufo-Addo.

He indicated that in terms of developmental projects and programmes, including vision and initiatives, he can state categorically that President Akufo-Addo can easily score 95 to 99 per cent.

"In fact, if Ghanaians could be grateful we should have retained President Akufo-Addo on the seat for life because he is the father of all, he does not even discriminate," he added and stated that President Akufo-Addo is doing well to transform the economy of this country.

Although some people who have their petty emotional problems talked against the performance of the President, President Akufo-Addo is doing whatever thing deserves for the political leader to do for his people.

Speaking further Mr, Kangberee denied widespread media reports being attributed to the former President John Dramani Mahama to the effect that the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo has abandoned projects including Wa General Hospital being started by the previous National Democratic Congress government under President Dramani Mahama.

"This is certainly not true, he said adding that President Akufo-Addo came to Wa to commission the said Hospital project in question and that the hospital is fully operational as l speak today," he explained.

Mr  Kangberee stated that he found it extremely difficult to understand why former President Dramani Mahama would say that the Wa General Hospital project has been abandoned by President Akufo-Addo.

"This is fat lies and that the hospital project was not abandoned and that we don't know what hospital project Mr Dramani Mahama is actually talking about," he stated.

"I  think that the former President John Dramani Mahama is confused to understand the benefits of the agenda 111 project of building hospitals in this country.

"The building of the new hospitals by President Akufo-Addo is not aimed at replacing them with the existing ones but rather in addition to the existing hospitals to help improve the general healthcare service delivery of the people in this country, Mr  Kangberee schooled Mr Dramani Mahama.

On the delay in appointing MMDECs, Mr  Kangberee said "we are in the ninth month of the year 2021 and people are clamouring for the release of the names and he didn't actually know why the President was unable to make the names of the MMDECs public."

He called on Ghanaians to exercise restrain saying that the President release the names of the MMDECs to run administrative affairs of the various assemblies in the country.

Mr  Kangberee revealed that he has already educated his followers and people to accept whatever names the President would release for the position of the MMDECs in the region.
