Manchester United has been attracted to the recent price tag of Barcelona defender, Samuel Umtiti.

According to Sport, Barcelona is willing to accept as little as £27m to part with France International after been deemed surplus to requirements at Camp Nou.

Before the coronavirus outbreak, Barca was looking for an asking price of £50m for the center back but the economic challenge of the pandemic has presented the Catalans no option than to halve their price to bring in new additions.

The 26-year-old defender has made just nine La Liga starts this season and it appears the Catalan giants are willing to let him leave.

Barca’s valuation on the 26-year-old is said to have alerted Arsenal and Manchester United, who it’s claimed are keen to bolster their defense when the window re-opens.

Mikel Arteta is also reported to be interested in bringing the World Cup winner to the Emirates to bolster his defense and the influence of  Alexander Lacazette is key.

Umtiti joined Barcelona from Lyon in 2016 and he has enjoyed a hugely successful time at the club, having helped the team win two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and two Supercopa.
