Joshua Cheptegei, the defending champion and current world record holder, won the men's 10,000-meter race on the third day of the World Athletics Championships, which are being held in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States.

In a time of 27 minutes, and 27.43 seconds, he prevailed.

Jacob Kiplimo, a fellow Ugandan, came in third.
