Dembele and Messi secured Barcelona’s second victory in Group G to go top with six points.

The Blaugranas should have won by a wider margin after squandering chances in front of goal against a brilliant Bianconeri.

The Catalan club took the lead very early in the 14-minute after Messi drove a nonchalant ball from one touchline to the other to give Dembélé time to run at the Juventus defence. His strike deflected off Chiesa and looped over the goalkeeper.

Two minutes later, Morata equalized but VAR denied the goal confirming the Juve players in an offside position.

The Spanish team kept on with their pressing and almost doubled their lead through their captain after Griezmann brilliantly back-heeled to give the Argentine a sniff of goal yet he dragged his effort wide of the far post.

Morata scored again 15-minutes to end the first half but he was once again flagged for offside after a brilliant Juventus attack. Both teams kept attacking each other and trended through opposition defence but found it tough to find the net.

The Blaugranas were unlucky not to score a second after an intelligent move by Messi who burst upfield and slipped in Dembéle. The winger waited too long and allowed Szczęsny to block. He then poked the loose ball back to Griezmann, who also took an age and gave the goalkeeper time to get up and sprawl in front of him.

Juve were indeed missing Chiellini and De Ligt with Bonucci not in perfect condition as their defence could not match the pace of Messi and Dembelé.

Busquets was introduced in the initial minutes of the second half for Ronald Araujo. The midfielder took his normal position and De Jong dropped back to centre-half.

The Bianconeries made a quick impact when they tried to exploit any nerves in that new Barcelona defence but they held firm and force Bentancur into a rising drive from 20 metres, missing the target.

Morata again scored his third offside goal before VAR denied it. Messi grown into the game and was dangerous with his moves in the yard but often had no one to connect.

Merih Demiral received a second yellow card and is sent after catching Pjanić with a late challenge. He was sent off the game and Juve had to play the rest of the five minutes with 10 men.

Lionel Messi doubled the lead from the spot. Ansu Fati was clipped from behind as he latched on to Messi's pass into the area by Bernardesch. The captain of the side sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it two wins from two in the group.
