Two suspected armed robbers were on Saturday afternoon killed in Nyariga, a suburb of Bolgatanga in the Upper East region.
The two were killed in a mob action following a failed robbery attack. While one was burnt to death, the other was lynched.
According to reports gathered luck eluded the two armed men who rode on a motorbike and accosted a male trader in an attempt to rob him of his cash.
The eyewitness accounts added that the robbery attack failed when the victim managed to disarm his attackers leading to a scuffle that got one of the armed men fractured in the hand and incapacitated.
He was set ablaze with the motor they rode while the other was given a hot chase and subsequently lynched.
This latest incident adds to several others reported in various parts of the region in the past few weeks with threats by residents to lynch persons caught in robbery attacks.
