The management of Tuobodom Senior High school has unveiled an all-inclusive education monument to spell out the importance of gender parity in education.

As part of the unveiling, the school's management also used the opportunity to honour some 6 individuals who have been supporting the school since its establishment by epigraphing their names beneath the monument.

Those honoured includes, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi who is a former Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways, Hon. Alex Kyeremeh, Hon. Martin Oti Gyarko, both former MPs for the Techiman North, the current MP for the Constituency, Constituency, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, Hon. Peter Mensah Kumbeso, the acting DCE for Techiman North and a philanthropist, Mr Kwasi Gyan Jomo.

These individuals were honoured based on their immense contribution towards the infrastructural and academic excellence of the Tuobodom Senior High School.

Hon. Peter Mensah Kumbeso in an interaction with the media, congratulated the 6 honoured individuals for their benevolent gesture towards the school.

He also revealed that the initiative by the Tuobodom SHS management to build the monument with the sole purpose of spelling out the importance of gender parity in our educational system is part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's affirmative actions to increase girls participation in school hence the introduction of the free Senior High school. 

The Techiman North District Educational Director, Madam Theresa Kpedu stressed the importance of Girl Child education and urged parents to make it their utmost priority to educate their female children.

According to her, without proper education for the girl child, basic things such as cooking, how to dress, proper communication and many other things that they need to leave a stress free life will be lacking. 

In an interview with the media, Mr Kwasi Gyan Jomo showed his appreciation towards the school for the admiration and further urged the students to learn some skills outside the academic studies to fully prepare them for the job market.

Mr Jomo said he is ever ready to accept any Student as an apprentice during their vacation or even after school so they will be empowered as skilled labour to ensure they have a bright future.
