Tuobodom: Court orders landlords to demolish house in 10 days over poor state
Demolishing

The Tuobodom District Court presided over by His Lordship Anthony Ansah has ordered seven Landlords at Techiman to pull down their houses over its death trap state.

It is believed that these buildings have turned into death-trap which now threatens lives and other properties in the neighbourhood.

His Lordship Anthony Ansah ordered the Landlords to demolish their structures within the next 10 days to prevent any unforeseen disasters or face the contempt of the court.

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Techiman South Municipality summoned a total of nine Landlords to the Tuobodom District Court praying to the Court to order property owners to demolish their houses.

The NADMO Director for Techiman South, Mr Eric Asiedu explained that he has had an encounter with the landlord of various houses to renovate their houses due to its deplorable state but it fell on deaf ears, hence his decision to sue them at court to get them to do the right thing.

According to him, the structures were very weak and could collapse at any time meanwhile people were renting the houses.

Mr Eric Asiedu indicated that, out of the nine landlords, seven were present during the hearing, five had already pulled down their assets while two prayed to the court to give time to carry out the demolishing exercise.

The court however gave them 10 days to demolish their houses.
