The accident occurred on Wednesday at Anloga Junction in the Ashanti Region.

A 45-year-old truck driver from Accra, Idrisu Sheiwu Tasbaa has died in an accident this morning in the capital of the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, around 6:30 am, Idrisu was driving a truck from Accra to Kumasi and  parked to engage in Islamic prayers, he decided to deliver loaded spare parts at Kumasi Magazine. On his way from Anloga Junction in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region, he lost control after a failed brake 

An eyewitness Seidu Abubakar in an interview said the truck driver swerved to avoid colliding with the vehicle and lost control of his truck.

"He arrived from Accra yesterday and decided to wait till morning to offload the car. After morning prayers, he set off and on reaching Anloga Junction, a taxi crossed him and he decided to save his truck from a collision. Unfortunately, the car failed brake and tumbled," an eyewitness said.

The driver died instantly while the mate is in severe condition at Komfo Anokye teaching hospital.

The deceased has also been deposited at Komfo Anokye hospital morgue waiting for autopsy.
