Trouble Looms Sefwi Bekwai Omanhene! As Aggrieved Youth Gives Him A Week Ultimatum To Find Out Killers Of  Martha Tetteh

The aggrieved youths of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region have registered displeasure over what they described as a deleberate delay in justice for a gruesome murder of Martha Tetteh.

The youths who staged a massive protect on Thursday November 10, 2022 have given a week to the Omanhene Of Sefwi Bekwai, Oyeadieyie Basape Kojo Armah III to find the killers Martha Tetteh.

The youth could not fathom why the chiefs would sit unconcerned for the delay of the case, accusing  some of the chiefs and traditional office holders from Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area for impeding justice for Martha.

At a briefing at the demonstration, organisers and leaders of the demonstration declared heatedly over feeble commitment of the police officers and chiefs (Nananom) to find justice for the deceased.

The spokesperson for the group,Mr Kwaku Baako stated that the the youth feels betrayed by the traditional authorities, notably the Omanhene Of Sefwi Bekwai, Oyeadieyie Basape Kojo Armah III for indigent engagement and loyalty in the search’s process and the pursuit of the evil makers.

“We are given Omanhene a week ultimatum to hold a meeting with the entire community to ensure the killers of Martha Tetteh have been imprisoned. It overwhelmed us why he was not cooperating with the police and the community to find permanent solutions to the bad name linked with Sefwi Bekwai. Youths from Sefwi Bekwai have been neglected in their search for greener pastures solely because of the bad name attached to us,” he stated.

The Assembly member for Old-Clinic Electoral Area, Mr Martin De-Porres Darko, who presented the petition to the assembly pointed out that they have picked intelligence that the police want to free the suspects of the murder for reasons best known to them.

“We are here today because we have picked intelligence that the Police and Omanhene want to cover the truth behind the sudden murder of the late Martha Tetteh some months ago. We are not kids. We are calling on the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure Martha Tetteh gets justice," he  stressed.

For his part the Assembly Member for the Post Office Electoral Area,Honorable ,Eric Oduro, popularly known as Awai emphasized that if the authorities want peace, they should ensure the chief who was apprehended in connection with Martha death will be tried.
