Wife of Sarkodie, Tracy Sarkcess, has lambasted the government over its decision to not retrieve Ghanaian citizens who have been stranded overseas by the border closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Tracy and her husband, Sarkodie, have been stuck in the United States of America since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic. They went abroad to enjoy precious time together and got stuck as the Ghanaian government had to close its borders to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.

She and her husband, with the numerous others have been clamoring for the government to bring them back home yet to no avail.

 “This border closure is really unbecoming! Pushing almost 6 months now since I left home… mabr3,” She angrily took to Twitter to express her feelings.

“So many countries have airlifted their citizens out of different countries regardless of the pandemic and imposed mandatory quarantines on them. So what makes the situation in Ghana different? It’s not like the virus is not already in the country”.

“And the number of infections has quadrupled since the closure so what’s the point at this stage? Why don’t we just accept the virus is there and try & manage it as best as possible instead of leaving over 3k Ghanaians stranded overseas?” She concluded.

It is clear that the government has no immediate plans to retrieve its citizens, but they should rather initiate plans sooner rather than later as the Ghanaians stuck abroad are running out of funds to maintain their standards of living.
