The Minister for Roads and Highways, Honourable Kwasi Amoako-Atta says the decision is to ease traffic flow and mitigate discomfort to the travelling public.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Honourable Kwasi Amoako-Atta has directed the suspension of the collection of tolls at the Buipe toll booth in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The suspension according to a statement signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Ministry, Engineer Christian Nti said the directives takes effect from today at 6:00 am Wednesday, 15th September 2021.

"The suspension is to ease traffic flow and mitigate discomfort to the travelling public, whilst the Ghana Highway Authority carries out its periodic maintenance repair works on the approaches to the bridge and the toll booth area". The statement noted.

It, therefore, advised motorists to comply with all traffic management and safety measures, adding that the maintenance work will last for 4-weeks.
