A 24-year tiler was sentenced to 150 penalty units on two counts of unlawful entry contrary to section 152 of the criminal offenses Act 1960(Act 29) for possessing a firearm without lawful authority contrary to section 11(1) of the arms and ammunition Act NRCD 9 1972 as amended by section 604 of Act 2001.
Worlanyo Wisdom pleaded guilty to simplicity to count 2 and was accordingly charged.
The court was presided over by His Honour Richard Delali Anku found the accused guilty upon his plea.
They charged the prosecutor to keep the gun until the convict produces a valid license for the same.

Presenting the brief fact of the case which was thoroughly investigated by D/PW/SGT Dorcas Ofosua, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector ...           told the court that the complainant, Felix Tetteh aged 24, and a driver living at Santos while the accused person, Worlanyo Wisdom aged 26 who is a tiler living at Ashaley Botwe.
He recounted that on 22/06/2022 at about 1:00 am, the complainant returned to his house and met the accused person in a room where he sleeps with his sister Naomi Abena Tetteh, a witness in the case.
He said when the complainant started questioning the accused person and realized he was armed with a locally manufactured pistol.
In his attempt to disarm the accused person, a scuffle ensued between them, and the accused person bit off the complainant's lower lip.
He said the complainant managed to disarm the accused person.
He said the Police Patrol Team was called and brought them to the police station and an official report was made.
He further said the complainant was issued a police medical form to seek medical attention whilst the accused person, Worlanyo Wisdom, was detained and the locally manufactured pistol with cartridges was retrieved for evidential purposes.
During investigations he continued, the accused person told the police that he was invited to the house by Naomi Abena Tetteh who happened to be his girlfriend and he decided to pick up the gun which was given to him by his grandfather for protection because it was late in the night.
Naomi Abena Tetteh on her part told the police that she knew the accused person as he once proposed love to her but did not know when he entered the room.
The accused person was the offenses pending further investigations..
