Three persons on a motorbike have been crashed to death at Asuboi, a farming Community along the Accra-Kumasi Highway, in the Nsawam Adoagyir Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
 
The accident occurred on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at about 4:00 am.

The deceased including a final year Junior High School student were on the motorbike returning from a wake-keeping at Ayeh, a nearby community.

Information gathered indicates that the motor rider overtook the truck on the pedestrian walkway but toppled over after hitting a stone forcing the motorbike to land in front of the truck.

 The truck ran over the bike and killing all three male victims on the spot.

"Three young guys riding okada from Ayeh had an accident on the highway stretch. They went to a wake-keeping at Ayeh and when returning, the front tyre of the motorcycle burst and dragged them onto the main road and a long vehicle truck ran on them killing all the three at the spot," A resident narrated to the media.

Nana Ohene Kwadwo, the Kyidomhene of Asuboi told Media men, that “the victims are all from Anom, a suburb of Asuboi. Two of them are siblings while the other is a cousin of a fetish priest in the community.

"One of the victims is a JHS final year student preparing to write his final exams in the next two months".

The mutilated bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital

Road crashes have killed a total of 342 passengers in the Eastern region from January to July this year.

Out of the number, 130 persons were killed in 345 crashes which involved motorcycles and motorized tricycles popularly known as Pragya compared to 108 passengers killed in 627 accidents cases involved commercial vehicles during the same period

Crashes that involved private cars claimed 50 lives while 54 pedestrians were crushed to death.
