The Northern Regional Urban roads director, Ing. Kwasi Darko has assured that works on the road have been delayed due to how the materials will get to the region.

The deplorable Tamale-Industrial area road that links to the Tamale - Bolga highway has completely been cut off after heavy rain.

The damaging feature of the road has led to sticking three cargo trucks in the middle putting numerous challenges on drivers complaining bitterly about the extra cost they incur as they try to keep their vehicles in shape and active.

The situation has forced some drivers to create a diversion for the fear of their cars getting gummed to halt their daily bread for days.

Some residents of Tamale speaking to Soireenews said, they are living in dangerous areas and calling for immediate solutions.

They added that they will block the road when necessary to save lives because they can't condone watching vehicles ending the lives of people.

Bashiru Gedda,  a driver and owner of one of the stuck vehicles speaking to Soireenews at the scene called for critical attention from the government to resolve their road challenges before the worse happens.

He relayed that drivers are always threatened in times of rain for fear of suffering financial loss due to the deplorable state of the road.

Meanwhile, he has promised that latest by this weekend construction will be on the road.
