The Presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who doubles as the current Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has become the toast of the NPP faithful at the health walk held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

The scores of the NPP faithful clad in NPP attires and T-shirts could not hide excitement and administration for Mr. Alan Kyerematen when they joined “Akyem for Alan Health Walk” at Kyebi.
Thousands of grassroots members of the New Patriotic Party poured out on Saturday morning to participate in a health Walk organized in the name of Mr. Kyeremateng.
The walk also served as an opportunity for the members to declare their unflinching support for Ghana’s longest-serving Trade and Industry Minister, in his bid to represent the NPP in the 2024 General elections.
Dubbed “Akyem for Alan, Onua Ne Akonta health walk,” the over a thousand jubilant grassroots members chanted pro-Alan songs showing their faith in him to win the flag-bearer elections, then to ably lead the ruling NPP to break the eight-year rule cycle.
Organizers of the walk explained the rationale behind the theme they chose:
“First of all, the theme chosen for the Akyem for Alan walk was because the people of Kyebi, Ejisu, and Offinso are one people from the womb of Dokua and so the people of Ejisu are family members  of the people of Akyem hence the “onua.”
…Secondly, the Akonta has to do with the fact that Alan’s wife is partly from Akyem.” They stressed. For those who want to have a feel of the energetic atmosphere during the walk, enjoy this short video.
