Thiago Alcantara has been heavily linked to join the Reds but his weekly wage remains another challenge for the Premier League champions to tackle.

ESPN has revealed that the Spaniard would earn more than £200,000-a-week if he officially makes the move to Anfield to work with Klopp.

Sports Bild confirmed on Friday that the Bayern Munich midfielder has agreed on a three-year deal to play in the Premier League for Liverpool yet the details of the contract were not revealed.

Liverpool would be required to fulfill the £27m demanded by the Bavarians before the deal becomes official.

Although Wijnaldum has attracted interest from Barcelona to work with former Netherland’s head coach, Ronald Koeman yet no bid has been received, a deal the Reds believe would help sort out the signing of the 29-year old Spaniard.

If a deal has been agreed as Sports Bild, then it means Thiago will be the Reds highest-paid player, above Mohamed Salah who is on £200,000-a-week.

The transfer window is a few weeks to close and per the words of German football expert, Kevin Hatchard to talkSPORTS, former Bayern president Uli Hoeness is angry at the Reds method of waiting till the final stage of the transfer window to sign the player for cheap.

The former administrator is confident that Thiago has agreed on personal terms to leave the Allianz Arena and he sees the Premier League club's method as unprofessional.
