Bisa Kdei has narrated how his close friends accused him of using 'juju' to gain ground in the music industry because of his fast progress.

The highlife veteran explained that the friends went to the media to say they had witnessed him using black magic to boost his career just to damage his reputation.

He noted that the friends did this because they were envious of his rise in the industry which was solely born out of hard work and perseverance.

The individuals carrying the rumour of him using sorcery comprised of his close friends and even his team members.

His back-to-back hits including; ‘Brother brother’, which ‘Mansa’ and many others which shot him unto the global market, and most recently one of his songs ‘Asew’ was used as a soundtrack in Netflix’s 2020 Christmas movie titled ‘Jingle Jangle’, caused these suspicions.

“I hustle a lot but my own people around me spread false information that I’m using juju to enhance my career. Sometimes you’d have to cut people off, it’s the best. In life, sometimes you need this kind of experience in order to succeed. If they are not around you, you won’t be pushed to succeed,” He recalled.

Bisa Kdei maintained that he is not bothered by the criticisms thrown at him since there is only one king of highlife.

He recently noted that the crowning of Kuami Eugene as the king of highlife was an erroneous action on the part of the industry as the throne only belongs to him.

"I’m the king of highlife music/the best ever and I saved it. You can argue. I always say I’ll use my energy to support and encourage others to do more. It’s a total waste of time if you think trolls and comparisons will break me," he said in a tweet.

The multiple award-winning musicians stated that would be happy to see every highlife musician thrive in their respective endeavours rather than some Ghanaians wasting time on the comparison.
