The former President of the Ghana Football Association, Dr Kwesi Nyantakyie has called on the youth in the Savannah region to emulate Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru in order to become successful in life.

He eulogized the former minister for food and agriculture for his hard work and humanitarian activities across the country.

Dr Nyantakyie was a special invited guest during the weekend at the 54th birthday of the Alhaji Limuna Muniru at Busunu in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah.

The birthday ceremony was organized by a youth group calling itself Friends of Alhaji Limuna (FOAM) to express their appreciation for the good work of the Alhaji Limuna.

“He is a man of integrity and wisdom. I have known him back in our school days” Dr Nyantakyie added.

According to the president of  FOAM, Mr Baba Wahab, they decided to pull their own resources together to organize the ceremony for the former Agric Minister.

The former minister initially turned down the invitation to the ceremony but for the voluminous calls by many including opinion leaders to rescind his earlier decision to honour the invitation. 

Mr Baba Wahab explained further, “it took us a stretch time to convince Alhaji Muniru to honour our invitation”. 

Alhaji Limuna Muniru used the ceremony to thank the youth for what they have done for him since he never expected the program to be as big as he witnessed.

He used the opportunity to advise the youth to take their destiny into their hands by pushing further in a rightful way for a brighter future and for the development of the community, the Savannah Region and Ghana as a whole.

He further asked for peaceful coexistence among them since development moves hand in hand with peace.

The former minister said that the political nature of the constituency is such that many may think he is nursing the ambition to lead the party again as the next parliamentary candidate through the birthday party but that is not the case.

The former minister explained further that “I will never contest any parliamentary primaries in this constituency but I will help any candidate who will lead the National Democratic Congress, NDC especially in the constituencies that the party lost their seats in the region to win them back and also I will help to increase the votes of NDC in the region.

Alhaji Limuna Muniru in his ultimate conviction aid the former president John Dramani Mahama will surely lead the party since he is the surest bet and the only person to redeem Ghana from the clutches of the underperforming NPP government. He said the former President will surely and officially announce his comeback at the right time.

The youth presented to the former agriculture minister a citation and a smock to mark his birthday which he thanked them once again for the kind gesture prayed for the bond of friendship he has with them to grow in strength and unity.

Many dignitaries including the former DCE for the then Damongo district Honourable Ali Bakari Kassim, former Presidential Staffer and former DCE for Gusheigu, former DCE for Yendi, former GFA president Dr Alhaji  Nyantakyie including NDC Constituency and branch executives were there to support the former minister celebrate his 54th birthday which saw over 500 persons in attendance.
