Aspiring Member of Parliament for the New Patriotic Party in the Obuasi East Constituency, Dr. Patrick Boakye has asserted that observing the colorful Independence Day parade first to be held in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is a great opportunity for every Ghanaian.

According to Dr. Patrick, occasions of such, rarely happens among Ghanaians especially people in the Ashanti Region therefore the opportunity provided by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make the rest of Ghana a core part of the country’s Independence celebration is a step in the right direction.

“The Independence of Ghana is normally celebrated in the capital but this president has given every Ghanaian the privilege to be a witness to the event by taking it across the various regions in the country which is a good project.

 

 

“Last year’s happened at Tamale and today we are witnessing the Kumasi version. Indeed, the number attendance at the Baba Yara Stadium tells it all and I am proud to be a part of the 63rd Anniversary of Ghana,” he said after the ceremony.

Kumasi was the center if attraction on Friday as Ghana celebrated her 63rd year as a liberated country. The theme for this year’s. “Consolidating our Gains” was aimed at strengthening Ghana’s rewards and achievements to make it more effective and secured.

“The consensus is holding for all of us to work towards the prosperous, peaceful and happy Ghana we want. We all recognise that the responsibility we carry as the first sub-Saharan colonial country to gain independence is not simply to build a successful country.

“We owe it to the rest of the continent and the black race to demonstrate that, indeed, we can build and run a successful, prosperous and happy country. This is a task we do not shirk, and which all Ghanaians accept,” the president said.

Speaking to SoireeNews on the event, the aspiring Member of Parliament applauded the initiatives of the president especially the Free Senior High School education which has received lots of admiration among many others in helping the destitute realise their potentials for the future development of the Nation.

He called on Ghanaians to support the initiative than to speak ill of it.

“There is no country in this world that has advanced without educational impact. Knowledge is the key in everything hence the president’s initiative, if we can thrive to be like Japan, UK, America and others, we must focus on our educational system and make everyone a part of it. That is what the president is doing.

 

 

“We don’t always have to depend on the government to give us jobs. When you acquire the needed skills and receive the requisite training, you can start your own business and employ others. There are so many sectors he’s restoring, talk of health and others,” he added.

He called on Ghanaians to hand Nana Addo power in December to continue his reign in order to resume his innovative ideas to push Ghana forward.

“Nana Akufo Addo cannot solve Ghana’s entire challenges with four years. There is a lot he can do if given the mandate to extend his term of office in the country. It is up to us as Ghanaians to vote for him in the upcoming elections to keep Ghana moving,” he encouraged.
