The burial of Hajia Mariama Bawumia, the mother of the Vice President was interrupted by 40 minutes downpour.

The late Hajia Mariama Bawumia, mother of the Vice President Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia has finally been laid to rest in Walewale of the North East Region.

The deceased is buried close to her late husband, Alhaji Bawumia at the family house.

Her burials which were scheduled to take effect at 12:00 pm was interrupted by 40 minutes downpour.

Imams at the funeral ground

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the Tijjaniya President of Ghana, Sheikh Abdul Failu Maikano led Islamic prayers on the late Hajia before her burials.

Alhaji Suleiman Sapaga, Brother to the late Mariama in an interview said the family cannot forget the good deeds of the deceased.

According to him, she was a pillar to the family and very helpful to all.

Mac Chancellor, a close associate to the Bawumia family also shared his life experience with the news team, stating that late Hajia used to love children and strangers.

According to him, she has live a fulfilling life.

Thursday, September 16th 2021 has been set aside for the three-day funeral (Adua).

In attendance included government appointees, the clergy, chiefs and MMDCE's.
