Details are emerging from the arrest of two Cameroonian Nationals at Opeikuma a suburb of Kasoa by the Central East Regional Police Command in the Central Region for operating a fake money printing syndicate in Kasoa. 
The two who have since been remanded into police custody were said to have already circulated huge sums of fake currencies into Ghanaian markets they had succeeded in printing on the blind side of the national security agencies.
This new outlet gathered that these Cameroonian Nationals were allegedly working with some operators of casinos and Sakawa boys who put into the circulation of their fake currencies.
 
They sometimes used fake currencies to buy goods and foodstuffs from unsuspecting drinking bar owners and food vendors.
The information available to Soireenews.com indicates that two Cameroonians were arrested following a report by Benjamin Agyemang, a Ghanaian citizen after his encounter with the duo.
According to the police report, the two had promised to print for Mr Agyemang GH¢100, 000 fake currency notes for a fee of GH¢ 50.000 after his encounter with them on social media.
Sensing danger, Agyemang made a report to the police who trailed the suspects and arrested them at Opeikuma a suburb of Kasoa.
This machine imported from Togo has two chambers. The suspects place original currency notes in one chamber and some white papers cut to the size of original currency notes also in the other.
They lure their victims by showing them original notes in the first instance to get them to pay for the amount demanded by them.
They have later wrap these black notes and asked their victims only to open them after 24 hours.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, February 10, 2022, Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Okyere Kojo Boapea stated that the police retrieved these black 200 cedis notes up to the tune of GH¢ 64, 000.
The two William Mbenson and Mba Caleb both aged 37 were arraigned before the Kasoa Akweley magistrate court and remanded into police custody to reappear on 16TH February 2022.
He cautioned the general public to be wary of such tricksters in order not to fall, victim.
